Why do I have to have a medication authorization form signed by my doctor to send and over the counter medication with my child?
The retreat is a school-sanctioned activity; therefore by law, every student carrying a medication is required to have a physician-completed form indicating the name of the medication, need for the medication, dosage, time(s) of administration, etc. In essence, every child carrying a medication—or in need of a PRESCRIPTION OR OVER THE COUNTER med—during the duration of the trip MUST fill out our health form & medication form before being allowed to take ANY medication with them. All medications going on the retreat must be checked by school personnel prior to leaving campus. Examples include melatonin, ibuprofen, Tylenol, Benadryl, ADHD meds, epi pens, etc.
I have some questions about the fall retreat, who can I contact?
