Heidi Alexander graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. She was a reading interventionist and 1st-grade teacher with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for three years before moving to Bradford Preparatory School. She is currently a 1st-grade teacher. During her time at Bradford, Heidi has had the opportunity to mentor beginning teachers, co-chair the 1st-grade team and sit on the school’s improvement team. She is passionate about building relationships with students and creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and loved. Heidi lives in Concord with her husband Lee, two boys, John-Michael, and Joshua, three Labrador Retrievers, and two cats. She enjoys cheering on her Buffalo Bills, eating chocolate chip cookies, drinking coffee on the front porch, traveling with her friends and family, watching movies, and reading anything by Jane Austen.
