Kindergarten Resources
Kindergarten Parents,
I would like to welcome each of you again to Bradford and we are all beyond excited to meet our newest Kindergarten students. Watching these students come to school for the first time and watching them grow is one of the highlights of my job and I look forward to it each year. However, this year has been drastically different and making it difficult to get students in for orientations or assessments. We are working diligently, as a leadership team, on all the different scenarios presented by the state for the start of school in the Fall. We do not have all the answers yet but will continue to communicate once we know more.
Regardless of the decision, we are preparing to gather information on our newest students to better help us serve their needs and make classes. Attached to this e-mail you will see three files and a link below. I will list them each out below and what you need to do. If you are able to print these documents and return them to the school within the next several weeks please do so. You may also scan them in, and e-mail them directly back to me. If you are unable to scan them in or print them, there are copies of each document in the front office of the Lower School Building. Again, we are asking that you complete these and return them to the LS office or directly to my e-mail ([email protected]). Below is a description of each document/link:
We also ask that parents complete the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. Please contact me directly to get a copy of this document.
Kindergarten End of the Year Expectations – This document is a high-level overview of the skills that students should end the school year with. This does not include every single thing but is a general outline of where your child should be by June of 2021.
Kindergarten Summer Activities – This is a calendar for the months of June, July, and August. It has a lot of great activities listed that you could do with your child each day. There are a lot of great ideas out there so this is not the only list out there. Some highlights would be to read daily with/to your child. This exposure helps builds a strong foundation for early reading.
Getting to know your Child Link: The link below is a questionnaire about your child. Please complete it and submit your responses. There is no need to do anything else as your response is automatically recorded for us through the google doc.
I know this is a lot of information all at once. This gives us a great start to get to know your family and your child. I can not wait to meet each child regardless of how the year starts. At this point, we will not be holding any in person testing for students like we have done in the past. You can sign up for a tour using this link:
If slots are full, more options could be coming out soon.
Thank you for your time and attention to this information and we look forward to being part of your child's education!
