Dotsi Hoffman, EC Director
Dotsi was born in Columbia, SC, has 6 siblings ( and 2 sister-cousins), and attended Catholic schools for most of her education. She attended the University of South Carolina but ultimately traveled to the mountains and graduated from ASU in 1981. Dotsi has taught from the mountains to the seashore in North Carolina, having taught in Watauga, Wake, Winston-Salem/Forsyth Counties as well as Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools at the Marine Corps Base and Amos Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital in Winston-Salem.She also taught in Henrico County, VA, Greenville County Schools in SC and a private Christian school in Greenville, SC. When her husband, Fred, answered God's call to ordained ministry, her family moved to Alexandria, VA where she taught in Alexandria City Schools for one year, before becoming the manager of the seminary bookstore for 3 years. When her family moved to Concord in 2001, Dotsi began the longest stretch of teaching in one county and spent 12 years with Cabarrus County Schools. In 2013, Dotsi accepted a position as EC Program Specialist in Iredell-Statesville County where she provided support to EC teachers in elementary, middle and high school. She took a "leap of faith" and accepted the position of EC Director at Bradford Preparatory and began work on December 27, 2016. Dotsi and Fred have been married for 36 years, have a totally,awesome, super daughter, Christina Ellen, who is 32 years old and lives in Charlotte, when she is not wandering the waterways of NC in her kayak. Her son, Joseph, was commissioned an officer in the US Army in 2014, after graduation from The Citadel, The Military College of SC, and married the gorgeous, Brittnie, in November, 2016. He will be leaving for a one year tour with Special Forces Europe on August 14, 2107 which is just an excuse to cover his true intent which is to improve his beer making skills. In her free time, Dotsi loves to read historical fiction, dig in the dirt in her secret garden and wander around in the beautiful mountains of NC and VA.
