Darrell Wells, Upper School Social Studies

Doc Wells graduated with his Bachelors of Art degree in Social Studies from Marshall University in 1992.  He moved to Concord, NC in 1993 where he taught for Cabarrus County Schools.  From 1998-2002, he was an Assistant Track and Field Coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After returning to Cabarrus County Schools, Doc taught AP US History and World History at Hickory Ridge High School.  He also coached football and track & field. In 2014, he served as a principal intern at Mount Pleasant High School while coaching cross country and track & field. He earned his Master's Degree in School Administration from Gardner Webb University in 2016. Doc retired in the spring of 2023 after 30 years of service as an administrator, athletic director, teacher and coach.  In February of 2024, he served as the Dean of Students at Langtree Charter Academy before joining the Bradford Prep family in 2025.  Doc enjoys traveling with his wife, golfing, and boating near his home on Lake Norman.
