Board of Directors

The Board is primarily responsible for the overall vision of the school as well as governance and financial oversight. Board meetings are held once a month at the school. The Board Meeting Schedule and Public Comment Policy can be accessed here. 

Bob Bruno, Chair
 
Bob Bruno holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from Ohio University and an MBA from Capital University.  The majority of his career has been spent in the financial services industry, where he has held multiple senior-level positions leading technology teams around the globe.  He is currently a Senior Vice President at Freedom Mortgage, where he is the Technology Executive responsible for Technology Operations for the company.  Bob joined Freedom in November of 2020.  Before Freedom, Bob held senior technology roles at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase.  Bob spent 16 years at Chase as an Executive Director responsible for leading various technology teams and functions throughout his tenure at the bank.  Bob and his family relocated to Charlotte from Columbus, Ohio in 2019.  Bob joined the Board in June 2020 and is serving as a member of the Finance Committee.
 
Britany Blaney, Vice Chair 
 

Britany Blaney is a Regional Property Manager based out of Charlotte, NC. She attended the University Of North Carolina At Greensboro, where she studied Business Administration. She currently oversees a portfolio of multifamily assets throughout western North Carolina and has a long record of successfully guiding clients' multifamily assets, new acquisitions, and asset repositioning. Britany holds a variety of certifications focused on leadership development, finance management, and marketing. Her award-winning leadership, training, and support have promoted career development and growth for her onsite teams. In addition to her career, Britany currently serves as the leader of the Administration team at Higher Purpose Church in her hometown of Mooresville, NC.    

 
Josh Dzyak, Treasurer

Josh joined the board in the fall of 2016 to provide assistance to the finance committee.
He has bachelor's degrees in accounting and business, as well as his MBA. Josh is a licensed CPA in Maryland, NC, and DC and has been in public accounting since 2009. He is an owner at Dembo Jones, P.C., where he specializes in providing outsourced accounting solutions, assurance services, and tax preparation services to his not-for-profit clients. Josh and his wife moved to North Carolina from Maryland in 2015. They are excited for their 2 boys to start at BPS in the fall of 2025 and 2027. 

 

Elizabeth Moser, Secretary
 
Elizabeth holds a B.S. in Communications/Advertising from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Elizabeth works with local non-profits in the creative development of marketing/fundraising campaigns, brand identity, and strategic communication planning. As a parent volunteer, she has assisted the school in the areas of brand development and fundraising. Currently, Elizabeth serves as the Board Secretary. 

 

Jason Darling, Board Member

Jason Darling joined the Bradford Preparatory School Board in March 2017 and brings expertise in marketing and strategic planning. He is presently employed at Huber Engineered Woods, where he holds the position of AdvanTech General Manager. In this role, he is responsible for the development and execution of tactical and strategic plans to achieve annual profit and volume goals for an industry-leading building products brand. Before Huber Engineered Woods, Jason held various project management and strategic marketing positions with The Clark Construction Group (based out of Bethesda, MD) and W.R. Grace (based out of Cambridge, MA). His educational experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Duke University (1999) and a Master of Business Administration from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (2006). In addition to his roles with Huber Engineered Woods and Bradford Prep, Jason also serves as a volunteer youth soccer and baseball coach. Jason lives with his wife, Meghan, and three children (two boys and a girl) in Huntersville, NC. 

 

Amanda Galindo, Board Member 
 
Amanda Galindo recently relocated to Charlotte and is joining us this year. Amanda has worked in Sports & Entertainment management for 13+ years in the areas of operations, training and development, human resources, leadership, marketing, and communications. She is currently the Regional Staffing Director for Spectrum Center, Bank of America Stadium, Truist Field, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Atrium Health Ballpark. Amanda, her husband, and their children relocated to Charlotte in October 2021. While Amanda is new to the Bradford family, she comes to us with four years of experience serving on a charter school board for a start-up school in Las Vegas, NV, including supporting the creation of the charter, board selection, model creation, school leader selection, financial planning, and overall support to the planning of the school opening. She also has served on charter school advisory boards in various states. Amanda also worked for a Charter Management company as a Charter Network Liaison and a Director that supported 34 charter schools in NV, CO, ID, and AZ. She is passionate about community, family, and supporting great charter schools like ours.

 

Melissa Gargagliano, Board Member

Melissa (Mel) Gargagliano is presently a Managing Director/Executive employed at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she is the Head of Global Commercial Card Fulfillment, Servicing, and Operations in Global Banking Operations. Mel joined the bank in 2005 as a Quality and Productivity executive, where she supported a number of businesses, including Human Resources and Consumer Credit Cards. She also worked with MBNA, the company’s consumer cards division, and was based in Chester, England, for two years. Mel then joined the Global Commercial Cards team as the Global Product Head, where she managed the global expansion of the business to over 100+ countries. She also held a role as the Global Business Risk and Innovations Executive and the Head of EMEA Commercial Cards for Global Transaction Services based in London for the Commercial Cards business. Most recently, she was a Global Banking and Markets Transformation and Change Executive. Previously, Mel spent 13 years in various operations, Six Sigma, and process management roles for JPMorgan Chase in the credit card, mortgage, and retail banking lines of business. Mel has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of South Florida and an MBA from the University of Tampa. She lives in Huntersville, NC, with her three children.

 

 

Justin Griffith, Board Member

Previously a fullback for the Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks, Justin recently opened up a restaurant in uptown Charlotte called the Famous Toastery. In addition, he is the founder and current president of Angel Way Foundation, an organization that promotes the development of young males through character building, athletics, value systems, conflict resolution, and leadership. Justin has a son attending Bradford Prep.
Stephanie M. Sneed, Board Member 
 
Stephanie Sneed has committed her professional and personal life to public service. She currently works as a trial attorney practicing in the area of federal labor and employment law. She has worked for all levels of government entities serving in various roles, which included but is not limited to attorney and environmental planner. As an attorney for child protective services, she was an advocate for children to ensure their health, safety, and welfare. As an environmental planner for a regional governmental authority, she was instrumental in coordinating numerous city-level governmental entities, throughout a vast metropolitan region, with the implementation of coordinated environmental programs. Her dedication to public service and children is integral to her personal life. She is a very active school volunteer. She has been appointed to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Bond Oversight Committee. She also serves on the board of the Thomasboro Foundation and is a member of the CLT Westside Education Think Tank and a founding member of the Eastside Education Think Tank, all of which are committed to raising awareness of issues and offering solutions in the educational arena, including empowering parents to navigate education systems and becoming the best advocates for their children. She is also a member of the education committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Black Political Caucus. As a twenty-plus-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization, she has engaged in countless public service programs, many of which focused on underserved children and social justice issues. As a Girl Scout leader/volunteer, she has been integral in developing the leadership skills for young girls of the same troop for the past six years. She additionally participates in a wide range of community events including, get out the vote (GOTV) programs/efforts, community clean-up events, neighborhood priorities programs, and social justice programs. Her academic studies include a B.S. from the University of Texas at Arlington, graduate-level studies in city and regional planning, and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law. More importantly, she is a product of public schools and committed to ensuring that her children and all children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg receive a quality public education. She is married and has two children, ages 11 and 7.
