Board of Directors
The Board is primarily responsible for the overall vision of the school as well as governance and financial oversight. Board meetings are held once a month at the school and are typically held on the first Thursday of each month. The Board Meeting Schedule and Public Comment Policy can be accessed here. Jason Darling, Chair
Jason Darling joined the Bradford Preparatory School Board in March 2017 and brings expertise in marketing and strategic planning. He is presently employed at Huber Engineered Woods where he holds the position of AdvanTech General Manager. In this role, he is responsible for the development and execution of tactical and strategic plans to achieve annual profit and volume goals for an industry-leading building products brand. Before Huber Engineered Woods, Jason held various project management and strategic marketing positions with The Clark Construction Group (based out of Bethesda MD) and W.R. Grace (based out of Cambridge MA). His educational experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Duke University (1999) and a Master of Business Administration from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (2006). In addition to his roles with Huber Engineered Woods and Bradford Prep, Jason also serves as a volunteer youth soccer and baseball coach. Jason lives with his wife Meghan and three children (two boys and a girl) in Huntersville, NC.
Josh Dzyak, Treasurer
Josh joined the board in the fall of 2016 to provide assistance to the finance committee. He has bachelor degrees in accounting and business, as well as his MBA. Josh is a licensed CPA in Maryland and NC and has been in public accounting for eight years. He works at Dembo Jones, P.C. as a manager where he specializes in providing tax and assurance services to individuals and non-public entities, including several non-profit schools. Josh and his wife are transplants from Maryland and have been living in Mint Hill since 2015.
Abby Byrum, Secretary
Abby Byrum’s background includes the areas of non-profit organizations and finances. She joined the board to serve as the Secretary. Her experience includes market research, financial reporting, and board management. Most recently, Abby served as the secretary for a local non-profit for four years; in that role, she was responsible for board communication and reporting of the organization’s financial status. Abby has a B.A in Business Management from St. Andrews University. She is actively involved in her church and is passionate about working with the children’s ministry there. A native of Charlotte, Abby, and her husband have two boys, a 6-year-old who will join Bradford next year and a 3-year-old.

Andrea Seymour, Board Member
Andrea Seymour is a leadership development professional for Robert Half, consulting with its global leaders on development solutions and mentorship strategies for the greater enterprise. She joined the organization in 2000, serving as Vice President, and Field Training Manager formerly. Andrea’s career progression provides a solid foundation of business consulting and service skills, strong individual leadership, and an appreciation for strategic organizational goals. She holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Tennessee and is professionally certified in a variety of self-awareness assessments and professional competency-based curriculum. Andrea and her husband, Ryan, have twin daughters attending Bradford Prep’s upper school.
Elizabeth Moser, Board Member
As a freelance graphic designer, Elizabeth works with regional/local non-profits in the creative development of marketing/fundraising campaigns, brand identity development, and strategic planning. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Advertising from the University of Tennessee, 1994. With a focus on customer behavior and creative design, Elizabeth’s designs are creatively purposeful with clear, effective messages. Elizabeth and her husband, Greg, have two boys, who have been at Bradford since the school’s first day in 2014. Their family stays actively involved with the school - from helping with book fairs, hot lunches, and fields trips - to just lending a hand where needed.

Melissa Gargagliano, Board Member
Melissa (Mel) Gargagliano is one of the newest members of the Board of Directors at Bradford Preparatory School, beginning her service in July 2019. She is presently a Managing Director employed at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she holds the position of Program Management Executive in Global Banking and Markets Operations Transformation and Change. Mel joined the bank in 2005 as a Quality and Productivity executive where she supported a number of businesses including Human Resources and Consumer Credit Cards. She also worked with MBNA, the company’s consumer cards division, and was based in Chester, England for two years. Mel then joined the Global Commercial Cards team as the Global Product Head, where she managed the global expansion of the business to over 100+ countries. She also held a role as the Global Business Risk and Innovations executive for Commercial Cards. Most recently she was the Head of EMEA Commercial Cards for Global Transaction Services based in London. Previously, Mel spent 13 years in various operations, Six Sigma and process management roles for JPMorgan Chase in the credit card, mortgage, and retail banking lines of business. Mel has a Bachelors degree, majoring in communications, from the University of South Florida and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Tampa. She lives in Huntersville, NC, with her husband and three children who are students at Bradford Prep.
