Karen McKaig is a long time North Carolinian having moved to Charlotte as a child.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Duke University and stayed on to get her Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on social studies.  She will be joining Bradford Prep after more than 30 years of teaching in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools where she spent most of her career teaching various levels of government, economics, and civics courses.  She enjoys being outside, especially in and near water, all sorts of sports, playing games and puzzles, and taking the dogs on walks and adventures.
