Esteban Lopez Mieres, US Spanish Teacher
Esteban Lopez Mieres earned his Bachelor's degree in English Language Teaching from Instituto Superior de Formación Docente y Técnica N.º 52 in Argentina. He is licensed to teach both Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL) in North Carolina. Upon beginning his teaching career in the United States, Esteban also launched his journey in scholastic esports, becoming a Certified NASEF Esports Coach and an Esports Industry Specialist through Universidad Tecnológica Nacional in Argentina. Over the past eight years, Esteban has dedicated his career to language education. He spent three years teaching English in Argentina before moving to the United States, where he has taught Spanish for the past five years at Hickory Career & Arts Magnet High School. Throughout his career, he has been committed to creating engaging, student-centered learning environments that foster language proficiency, cultural awareness, and meaningful communication.In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Esteban founded and coached Hurricane Dynasty, the first scholastic esports program in his school district. Under his leadership, the team has earned multiple championships while providing students with opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills through competitive gaming. Esteban joins Bradford Preparatory School as the Upper School Spanish teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. He is excited to share his passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures while inspiring students to become confident, lifelong learners. Originally from Argentina, Esteban now lives in North Carolina with his spouse. Outside the classroom, he enjoys traveling, strength training, gaming, following soccer, and exploring new technology. Above all, he values building meaningful relationships with his students and helping them grow both academically and personally.
