English II Honors 1 credit Prerequisite: English I This honors course includes all of the components of English II. In addition, students will read The Good Earth instead of Homesick: My Own Story, and other examples of challenging literature are added to the Honors course. Honors classes are offered for the motivated student who enjoys additional academic challenges; therefore, these students are expected to read substantially and independently in order to facilitate class discussion. Honors courses also place greater emphasis on synthesis, analysis, and evaluation of literature. The final exam for English II is the state EOC test and counts as 25% of the final grade.
