EOG/EOC Retest Opportunity for 2025–26 School Year
Beginning this school year, the NC Department of Public Instruction is allowing students who score non-proficient on an End-of-Grade (EOG) or End-of-Course (EOC) test to retake it. This gives students a second chance to demonstrate their knowledge and potentially improve their proficiency standing.
A retest can only help — not hurt. If a student scores lower on the retest, their original score stands. For High School EOC courses, the higher of the two scores will count as the student's final exam grade.
Which tests are eligible for retesting at Bradford Prep?
| Test | Retest Offered? |
|---|---|
| Reading & Math EOG (Grades 3–8) | ✅ Yes |
| Math I and Math III EOC | ✅ Yes |
| 5th & 8th Grade Science EOG | ❌ No |
| Biology and English II EOC | ❌ No |
When and how will retesting work?
Retesting will take place during the last week of school. We have intentionally scheduled retests so that students will not miss any end-of-year activities, including field days and classroom celebrations.
Participation is optional and requires parent or guardian permission. We encourage families to consider this opportunity, as it can be a valuable chance for your student to demonstrate their full potential and academic growth.
If you want your student to take part in retesting, please click the link below and complete the form. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
