Bradford Preparatory School

Dual Enrollment Student Expectations & Communication

Student Expectations:

  • Must log in to the community college’s learning management system daily to check for assignments or professor feedback on submitted work.
  • Communicate to the Bradford Prep CPCC coordinator the names of the courses they are registered for each semester.
  • Check their community college email daily to avoid missing work.
  • Attend all required class sessions (if applicable). Transportation to and from in-person classes is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or student.
  • Complete assignments on time.
  • Stay informed about course calendars and expectations.
  • Students should plan accordingly to complete coursework for their dual enrollment courses. Students should expect approximately 30-45 minutes per day for semester long courses and 45-75 minutes for 4–8-week sessions.

Accommodations

  • Students with disabilities must self-advocate for accommodations with the college or university. Bradford Prep cannot request accommodations on behalf of the student.

Parent & Student Communication with the Community College

  • College instructors will communicate only with students, not parents. Students and parents should monitor progress regularly.
  • Community Colleges do not share anything with the high school as it pertains to student progress. The School only receives a list of who has registered for classes (weeks after the class begins) and then the grade report at the end of each semester. It is the responsibility of the student to monitor class requirements and keep up with their work.
  • Parents are not able to speak to CPCC unless the student has filled out a FERPA release form.

Academic Standards & Consequences

  • Failing a dual enrollment course can impact athletic eligibility, overnight trip eligibility, and extracurricular eligibility as it is considered part of a student’s course load as it pertains to academic eligibility requirements.
  • Students will be required to retake and pass any failed classes at their own expense prior to enrolling in any additional classes at the community college.
  • Cheating or plagiarism will result in removal from the course, a failing grade on the transcript, and may impact eligibility for other honors courses.
