Diana Hinson, Upper School Spanish Teacher

Diana Hinson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in English as a Foreign Language from Universidad Francisco José de Caldas in 2008, in her home country of Colombia. She has also completed specialized studies in Pedagogy and Bilingualism, further enriching her professional expertise. Diana holds a Master’s degree in Education for Self-Directed Learning from Universidad de La Sabana. Over the past 16 years, she has dedicated herself to the field of education—11 of those years teaching English in Colombia, and the past 5 years teaching her native language, Spanish, in the United States. Her professional experience covers public and private schools, as well as higher education. She has served as a classroom teacher, virtual tutor, curriculum and materials designer for English programs at a private college, and as a language program coordinator. She served as a Substitute teacher at Bradford for the past semester and will take on the Upper school Spanish 3 & 4 classes for the 2025-2026 school year. Diana moved to the United States six years ago and now lives in Kannapolis with her husband, Isaac; her younger son, Cristian, who attends RCCC; and their two dogs, Huckleberry and Joselyn. Although most of her family remains in Colombia, she stays closely connected to her roots. Diana is passionate about the richness of languages and cultures. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring nature, reading, watching movies, or listening to music—but above all, she values spending quality time with her family.
