Dr. Tyler Mavity holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Secondary Education), the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Master's in School Administration), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. He began his coaching and teaching career in Wake County Public Schools. He taught high school (9-12) AP psychology, government/civics, sociology, and history courses. In addition to teaching, he coached high school basketball. Prior to his arrival at Bradford Prep, he served as an instructional coach at Ardrey Kell High School, Dean of Students at Myers Park High School, and Assistant Principal at Lake Norman Charter School. He enjoys spending time with his family/friends, cooking, playing board games (such as chess), watching sports, and golfing. He lives in Kannapolis with his son. Dr. Mavity is a strong instructional leader who is committed to advancing Bradford Prep’s mission/vision and building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
